Industriell standardtålighet med friterad kiselkarbid

Silicon carbide possesses outstanding flexural strength and fracture toughness properties, making it particularly resistant to bending. As such, this material makes an excellent choice for dynamic load or stress applications.

Hexoloy SE sintered SiC tubes are highly resistant to chemical corrosion, capable of operating under extreme temperatures and boast outstanding mechanical properties thanks to their high purity, low porosity and exceptional hardness.

Motståndskraft mot höga temperaturer

Silicon carbide stands up well to high temperatures while maintaining its hardness and strength, making it an excellent material choice for harsh environments such as corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, thermal shock protection and low coefficient of expansion – among many others. It offers outstanding tribological properties.

Sintered Silicon Carbide’s high hardness and density make it an excellent material to absorb impact energy during ballistic armour plates, protecting military and law enforcement personnel while still enabling mobility during combat situations.

At Ceramic Resources Group we offer both reactive and pressureless sintered SiC ceramics for different applications and conditions. Pressureless sintered SiC has a higher density and greater stability compared to Reaction Bonded silicon carbide; making it suitable for applications that require consistent products with lower property requirements, including applications involving more consistent results with lower property requirements than Reaction Bonded silicon carbide’s course grain structure – more economical too than reaction bonded SiC. In terms of Young’s modulus it exceeds 400GPa while being resistant against acids and lyes.

Motståndskraft mot korrosion

Silicon Carbide (SSiC) is an industrial ceramic with superior thermal strength, corrosion resistance, and wear properties. Due to its excellent abrasion-resistance and hardness properties, SSiC is often chosen for mechanical seal applications in pumps, compressors and mixers.

Reaction-sintered silicon carbide offers excellent chemical corrosion resistance, being resistant to most acids and alkalis, but less so for washing liquids containing iron, aluminum and calcium impurities as impurities.

Morgan’s premium sintered materials are designed for superior corrosion resistance and abrasion performance, including resistance against high temperatures and pressures, with their lightweight construction saving aircraft weight for increased fuel efficiency. Our Hexoloy SE tubes provide chemical corrosion resistance in gas turbine engine applications.

Hög hållfasthet

Silicon Carbide is an extremely hard material, capable of withstanding wear-and-tear, erosion and impact damage. Additionally, it is chemically resistant and an electrical semiconductor. Available both reaction bonded and sintered forms – the latter more frequently utilized for industrial uses such as mechanical seals and pump parts – silicon carbide can withstand damage caused by wear.

Reaction bonded SiC is produced by heating silica sand and carbon at high temperatures in an open furnace until silica carbide crystals form, then grinding into powder form and mixing with non-oxide sintering aids to form dense solid-phase sintered products under vacuum at 2000degC. Afterward, this material can be compacted using ceramic forming processes such as isostatic pressing or die pressing to produce green or black ceramic that can then be sintered under vacuum to form dense solid phase sintered products with denser solid-phase sintered products than would otherwise exist before compacting process begins again at higher temperature for solid-phase sintered products than normally produced in open furnace environments.

Reaction-sintered SiC is highly versatile material that can be machined into extremely precise tolerances and complex forms, offering high strength that remains consistent at high temperatures and exceptional toughness, making it the perfect material choice for wear parts such as pump seals or kiln burner sleeves.

Hög slitstyrka

Silicon carbide is one of the hardest materials available and retains its hardness under high temperatures, giving it excellent wear resistance in environments where other ceramics fail. Furthermore, silicon carbide stands up well to corrosion and oxidation damage as well as acid and alkali damage – providing great corrosion and oxidation resistance as well.

Reaction Sintered Silicon Carbide (RSSC) is an engineering ceramic with exceptional strengths, hardness and wear resistance properties. It can withstand severe abrasion, impact, corrosion and thermal shock conditions and is simple to bond, inlay and socket.

Reaction sintered SiC can be manufactured via either reaction sintering or pressureless sintering processes, with reaction sintering being more cost-effective and producing near net shapes for large sizes with complex geometries. Reaction sintered SiC is known for its superior flexural and bending strengths, its fracture morphology being tight and uniform with minimal pores, high density, low free-silicon content, high performance characteristics such as thermocouple protection tubes that protect sensors from particles or gases in harsh environments, while free-silicon content makes this material an ideal material choice for thermocouple protection tubes used by thermocouple manufacturers to shield sensors from these harsh environments.
